Objectives: Bachelor in Biology
-
Building the general knowledge in fundamental sciences (mathematics,
physics, chemistry, biology) in an analytical and synthetic
manner.

Developping the capacity to lay relationships within and between
the different biological organisation levels: molecules, organelles,
cells, organisms, populations, living communities, ecosystems
and global systems.

Understanding basic concepts on reproduction, genetics and evolution.
- understand the actual developments in
methodology, analytical techniques en data analysis used
in a large spectrum of biological research.
- understand the actual developments in

in a large spectrum of biological research.

- be proficient in the properties and diversities of biological
systems: molecules, species (Archaea, Bacteria, Protista,
Fungi,
Plantae, Animalia), interactions and processes
(immunology, parasitology, physiology, reproduction, growth and development,
effect of the environment); and of systems
(ecology)
- be able to apply methods and techniques in the context
of a stage in a research lab (with reporting)
- learn critical thinking and establish relations between
structures and functions.
- be able to interprete correctly and critically biological
and ecological aspects in the society (government, industry
and research)
- get insights in concepts, interrogations and experimental
approaches in biology including bio-ethics and philosophy.
