Welcome to study Biology with us
You are welcome to come as an "Erasmus" student and follow part of
your curriculum at the VUB, it can be a semester, a whole academic
year, the Master thesis or eventually a summer stage.
You will likely not be alone since we welcome every semester several Erasmus students. Our "local" students can allways speak English and they will gladly welcome you. Brussels is of course also a very international city.
A large number of courses
of the Master programme in Biology are offered in English to all biology students.
Please click here or on "Master Program" in the menu at the left.
Courses are grouped in semester modules of 30 ECTS. For organizational reasons, it is advised that you choose classes from a single module.
Note that
very few of the Bachelor classes are offered in English (click in the left menu), it is therefore highly recommended that you come as Erasmus student in your Master years.
You can contact the Biology departement for help in setting-up the curriculum
you want to follow here ("learning agreement").
The Biology coordinator is Prof. Dr. F. Bossuyt
The Faculty of Sciences has also a Study Programme counsellor: Mrs. Reen Tallon (+32 2 629 17 43).
Note that all professors and assistants speak fluently English.
For more general information about the Erasmus programme at
the VUB, please go here and
for information for prospective students, go here.
Be aware that your home University should have an agreement with
the VUB to allow for Erasmus exchanges. If it is not the case,
such an agreement can be concluded but it takes quite some
before
it is effective.
If you are interested to come study Biology as an Erasmus student, contact us as early as possible.
