CcdAB DNA complex

Loris Lab

Molecular Recognition

The Loris lab pioneered the study of functional mechanisms of intrinsic disorder in prokaryotes using toxin-antitoxin modules as model systems. This knowledge on IDPs is the starting point for further fundamental and applied work not only on TA modules, but more recently on NAC transcription factors involved in the DNA damage response in plants. Classic structural biology is combined with biochemistry, molecular biophysics and in vivo work to unravel novel mechanisms of transcription regulation and IDP function.
