Vincent Lafforgue heeft zijn sporen verdiend in de theorie van de operator algebra's, specifiek in verband met de Baum-Connes conjectuur, maar krijgt de breakthrough prize voor zijn recente fundamentele bijdragen aan het Langlands programma, dat zich situeert binnen zowel de domeinen getaltheorie, algebraïsche meetkunde en representatietheorie. SENIOR CERA AWARD 2018 VOOR ANN DOOMS

Leuven – Op de Cera Award prijsuitreiking 2018 op vrijdag 5 oktober werd de Senior Cera Award 2018 uitgereikt.
De Senior Cera Award laureaten zijn exacte wetenschappers,ingenieurs en technici die hun loopbaan een duidelijke maatschappelijke oriëntatie gaven. Ze tonen zo aan jonge mensen tonen dat ook wetenschappelijk-technische studies kunnen leiden naar loopbanen die focussen om mensen en maatschappelijke uitdagingen.

De winnaar van de Senior Cera Award 2018 is de gepassioneerde wiskundige Ann Dooms.

The Department of Geography of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel seeks a motivated candidate for a PhD position on urban ecosystem service assessment. The research will be carried out in the frame of an Innoviris Anticipate project (CO-NATURE) on the co-production of scenarios for nature-based urban regeneration with a focus on the Brussels Capital Region. The project is a collaboration between the Cartography and GIS Research Group (CGIS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Building, Architecture and Town Planning Department (BATir) of the Université libre de Bruxelles.
