Master's Thesis Guidelines
Attention: this page only provides a summary of the Master's Thesis guidelines. All official documentation and communication is available on Canvas.
This page gives a brief overview of how the master’s thesis for the following programs is organised:
- Master of Science in de Ingenieurswetenschappen: Computerwetenschappen
- Master of Science in Applied Sciences and Engineering: Computer Science
- Master of Science in de Toegepaste Informatica
The official description of the respective course units can be viewed in the student self-service. Each course unit has a Canvas-space in which additional information may be found and additional announcements may be made. By registering for a course unit via the student self-service, you automatically get access to the corresponding Canvas-space. For students of the M.Sc. Ingenieurswetenschappen: Computerwetenschappen and the M.Sc. Applied Sciences and Engineering: Computer Science, the relevant course units are called ‘Masterproef Computerwetenschappen’ and ‘Research Training’. For students of the M.Sc. Toegepaste Informatica, the relevant course unit is called ‘Masterproef Toegepaste Informatica’.
Please use one of the following templates for the title page of your thesis.
You should register your thesis topic before 2020-10-31 with the Department of Computer Science by filling out the ‘Master’s thesis registration form’ and submitting it via Canvas.
There are three important deadlines with regard to submission of your thesis. The first is submitting your thesis's title page via Canvas. The second is handing in your thesis via Canvas. The third is the actual defence of your thesis. The deadlines are as follows:
- First exam period of the first exam session (January)
- Title page: 2021-01-08
- Thesis: 2021-01-18
- Defence: 2021-01-29
- Second exam period of the first exam session (June)
- Title page: 2021-06-04
- Thesis: 2021-06-14
- Defence: 2021-06-25 or 2021-06-28
- Second exam session (August)
- Title page: 2021-08-13
- Thesis: 2021-08-23
- Defence: 2021-09-03 or 2021-09-06
