Professor Richard Royce Schrock (MIT, USA), Chemistry Nobel Laureate 2005
Olefin metathesis was recognized by the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2005. It is a reaction in which C=C bonds are cleaved and “rearranged” to give new C=C bonds. I will present some of my own discoveries that led to over 30 years of progress and the Nobel Prize in 2005.
